Ashutosh!

How innocent are you!

Born Stoic, Renunciant!

You deluge souls with

Whatever they wish

Without thought!

Being   a Channel of Supreme Love

You know no bounds.

Chaste mendicant!

Embodiment of Sience

Of Sound and Tantra!

You are Supreme Wisdom Incarnate!

How should I describe Lord Shiv who looked to me a perfect Yogi when I first saw his idol in lotus posture beside the bed of my grandfather! The pious Ganga flowing from his mated locks purified my heart always. The songs of his conjugal sport with Mother Parvati, I heard from the lips of my grandmother often enchanted me.   His insouciant sport with colours at the festival of Holi at Mount Kailash narrated in folklore, thrilled me often. The folksongs sung by ladies depicted pictures of his conjugal sport with Mother Parvati. The songs vividly narrated how when Shiv grows the plants of bhang, Mother Parvati waters those plants; how when he sets to take bath, Mother Parvati bathe him and how they live in perfect conjugal harmony with all kinds of upheavals all married couples go through on our planet.

At the occasion of Shivratri, my mother always narrated us the story of Goddess Sati who attained Shiv as her husband and lost him because she tested prince Ram of Ayodhya of his divine status on finding him roaming in the woods, searching for his wife Sita. As I grew up and went through scriptures, I began to fall in love with this innocent and ever blissful yogi who was often tricked not only by Lord Shrikrishn but even by his own devotees. But his innate nature is such  that  he never minded such trickeries and shed all grudges evanescently, being super generous and always humbly accepted the Will of his Supreme Lord Shrikrishn unconditionally. I experimented and received his gracious visions and messages plenty of times.

Lord Shiv is accessible to all. He is the quickest to be pleased. I find him a perfect husband and perfect disciple as well as perfect bestower of boons. He worshipped Divine Mother to get his wife back when he lost his wife Sati and filled lakes with his tears in her remembrance. He is a unique stoic husband unparallel in chastity. His oneness with Mother Parvati is perfect and he, as Ardhnarishwar is an abode of wisdom, music, dance, tantra and all learning. My salutations to them forever and forever!
