Shukresh Shiv

Shukresh Shiv

Aware  of immense spiritual energy of lord Shiva and his matchless benevolence Shukrachray who is  in the habit of worshipping lord Krishna by chanting his mantra reached Kashi at the bank  of Holy river Ganga and sat down to please him. He prepared a shivling of earth and bathed it one lakh times with panchamrit i.e. gangajal, ghee, honey, milk and curd. Regularly he would paste sandalwood paste on the shivling and offer all auspicious articles to please him.

His devotion to his lord created thousands of his names which he chanted all the time to win the heart of his lord. No being can please a spiritual being without purging his chitta which represents causal body or ling sharir and is the cause of existence. Shukrachary purged his chitta by focusing on names, properties and form of lord Shiv day and night. This took him a thousand years. Lord Shiv then one day appeared from the Shiv ling, smiling and resplendent spreading scintillating brilliant light that knows not the existence of darkness.

“Blessed son of sage Bhrigu! You are virtually abode of penance and austerity. I am pleased with you. Seek anything. There is nothing that you do not deserve now.” Said a generous bestower of boons who is ever committed to usurp evil tendencies from the mind.

The devout servant however did not ask for anything. So overwhelmed was he that he remained lying prostate in the feet of his lord without lifting even his face.  His tongue repeated only glorious names of his lord in gratitude and praise. Lord Shiv was so moved by his selfless devotion that he lifted him in his arms and said,-“Having purified yourself by such penance, you are now as deer to me as my son You will enter my body and take rebirth from my ling. I bestow upon you the rarest of science of sanjeevani which will empower you to resurrect anyone. You will be as glowing and resplendent as sun and moon and will rule as a shining main planet in the galaxy. This ling which you have worshipped to please me, will be known as Shukresh ling and whosoever will worship this, shall be bestowed with powerful semen and multitude of progenies”.  Blessing him the lord disappeared leaving behind a trail of peace, bliss and prosperity of all kinds on his devotee who is immortal and most powerful in his function as semen to carry out the lineage of all beings.
